Competition summary:
This contest is designed to encourage never-before-published Canadian writers. Enter original works of fiction or nonfiction to a maximum length of 1500 words. This year’s theme is open. Read on for more details.
What are the 2012 prizes?
| First prize: | Registration for Canada's largest Christian writing conference, Write! Canada (a value of more than $400!) |
| Second prize: | $100 gift certificate for The Word Guild |
| Third prize: | $50 gift certificate for The Word Guild (Gift certificates can be used for membership, conferences, etc.) |
Who can participate?
Canadian citizens or legal permanent residents who affirm the Apostles’ Creed

What will you write about?
Send in your fiction or nonfiction works, including article, short story, script or poetry. The theme is open—writer's choice!
When is the 2012 submission deadline?
Before midnight February 15, 2012
What are the categories?
- Ages 14 to 19
- Ages 20 to 39
- Age 40 and up
What is the format?
- Arial 12-point font
- Number pages
- Double-spaced
- Margins of at least 1" (2.5 cm) at left, right, top and bottom
- Include cover page listing manuscript title, word count, author name, age, category.
- Use only PDF or word documents
- Do not include any pictures or graphics
How do I submit my entry?
This year we have a new and improved online entry form. You will be asked to upload a digital copy of your work (PDF, doc, or docx).
What is the entry fee?
